Pursuing a career path to dentistry.
While leaving a store parking lot with my mom, I spotted my dentist's office across the street. I told my mom that my tooth was hurting. Immediately, my mom asked me where and how long it had been hurting. I responded, "Just kidding! I want to go to the dentist!" For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a dentist. Immediately, my mom asked me where and how long it had been hurting. I responded, "Just kidding! I want to go to the dentist!" For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a dentist. What kid begs to go to the dentist? I want to be a dentist because it will allow me to serve others in healthcare. It can also restore their confidence by improving the first thing you notice about a person- their smile.

Knowing I wanted to pursue a challenging career, I focused on STEM-related classes and activities. My educational career has included as many dual enrollment classes as possible. I am very privileged to attend Saraland High School. It is considered the #2 high school in Mobile County and one of the best in the state. Our teachers work tirelessly to make sure we are prepared for college. Being a part of the robotics team at the local and regional levels has encouraged me to collaborate and problem-solve with others. It has improved my analytical thinking skills, helped me with computer coding, and taught me to be a problem solver.

I was fortunate to grow up in a family that believed in community service. My parents have taught me the importance of giving back my entire life. In the tenth grade, I was one of only thirty students selected in the Mobile area to participate in the Youth Leadership Class of 2023. This intensive nine-month volunteer program exposes students to our area's various community service groups. At the end of the nine months, I had to create a service project, planning it from beginning to end. I have always had a soft heart for the differently abled. I planned a Mardi Gras party for the adults who live at the Cleveland House in Saraland.
Evidence shows that students involved in extra-curricular activities are more interested in school than their peers. Being involved in clubs has helped me develop new interests, make lifelong friends, develop new skills, and engage in meaningful activities outside the classroom.
My educational journey at Saraland High School has helped me become well-rounded. I've learned to balance my time between my classes, work, church, extra-curricular activities, and home life. These experiences will continue to mold me into a successful college student.
Strengthening my ties to my community helped me to realize how my actions can positively impact others. The skills I have obtained will help me be a better college student and, eventually, a better employee in the workforce. We can work together to make the world a better place and ensure our community's needs are met.
